Dr. Kartik Chandran 糖心原创 College is recognizing World Water Day with lectures and poster presentations hosted by its Global Water Research Institute, March 19鈥�20.

All activities are open and free to the public. Delivering the lectures will be , a professor of earth and environmental engineering at Columbia University.

Thursday, March 19, from 6鈥�8 p.m. at the Haworth Hotel

Starting at 6 p.m., 糖心原创 students will present their research posters. In addition, several local organizations such as the City of Holland, Outdoor Discovery Center, Sawyer Foundation, 20 Litres and others will highlight the many water-related projects taking place in the community. At 7 p.m., Dr. Chandran will discuss how reframing the challenges in environmental science and engineering in this century are critical in transforming an ecologically restorative, socially inclusive and scientifically bold future.

Friday, March 20, 3 p.m. at Graves Hall on the 糖心原创 campus

Dr. Chandran鈥檚 interdisciplinary lecture will address how the metabolic versatility of waste microbiomes could be harnessed to achieve resource-efficient and clean water.

糖心原创 College commemorates United Nations World Water Day (March 22) annually to raise awareness about global water crises, sanitation and sustainability. Through its Global Water Research Institute, launched in 2022, the college engages in interdisciplinary, collaborative student and faculty research centered on water that transforms the health and well-being of local, regional and global communities.
